Art Ipswich Town Hall - Suffolk Craft Society

This week I completed a felt/fabric illustration of 'Ipswich Town Hall' for an open exhibition that is being run from Friday 22nd June - 14th July 2012 at the 'Suffolk Craft Society'.

A few months back, I stood observing the market that takes place outside Ipswich's Town Hall.  I took a quick snap on my iphone and kept it by encase I should ever want to draw the moment.

I saw an advertisement from the 'Suffolk Craft Society' for an open exhibition that they had coming up, so thought this was the perfect opportunity to use my 'snap'... here was the outcome...

First quick sketch of the Town Hall

Sizing the illustration up for the frame

Felt pieces cut and being stitched down my sewing machine - here I used a
thick black cord to emphasise certain features within the illustration

Machine work done, with a use of thick and thin black cord - Now time
to add in finer detail and unusual/abstract markings by hand stitching

Completed

Framed

The finished product - felt/fabric illustration before being framed

Overall I was really pleased with this piece and I thoroughly enjoyed creating it.  If you would like an abstract felt/fabric illustration commissioned for yourself, or as a gift for someone, please feel free to contact me on the following and I will be more than happy to discuss your ideas.

Please also note, that this Sunday 24th June I will be exhibiting at St Peter's Street - Summer Market...
So feel free to pop down and say hi!

Suffolk Wedding Painted Gift from a Sister - Hengrave Hall Summer 2012

I was recently asked by a dear friend of mine, to create an illustration and a couple of hand painted 'bespoke' mugs for hers sisters wedding this June 2012.

I was delighted to do so and illustrated the wedding venue 'Hengrave Hall' in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.  What a beautiful building this is and the perfect location for any wedding.  I thoroughly enjoyed the fine line work I had to do, to pull this drawing together and closely study the structure of such a magnificent building.

Please click on the illustration below to see the image in full (but also note, the 'I Love Suffolk' has been added as a watermark and was not on the final illustration).

For the mugs I created two simple, yet beautiful designs - Mr 'heart' Mrs - and - Mrs 'heart Mr... with both mugs stating the date of the wedding on the handle and with a personalized message underside from the sister.

These mugs are superb and so sincere, as they are painted with care and specifically created for the bride and groom...  Totally bespoke and tailor made, as I can paint anything you like.

If you would like to order these mugs, with your own personalized message underside it is only £20 plus postage and packaging, this is for 2 hand painted mugs!  Amaze the bride and groom at any wedding with this personalized gift or even treat you and your partner to a couple of - Mr 'heart' Mrs - and - Mrs 'heart Mr - mugs, with a special message underside to celebrate an anniversary, or even as a gift to parents or family to celebrate their anniversary?

To order, please contact me on the following and I will be more than happy to help... the possibilities are endless!:

Childs Drawing Mug Perfect Gift Hand Painted in Suffolk

A lady I know, who is a regular customer at my work in Ipswich, often comes into the store with her two young children Leo and Lily to get colour copies made of her children's fabulous drawings...  As some of you may be aware, but I love to re-paint such children's drawings onto mugs, freehand.

I explained that if she was to provide me with her favourite drawings from Leo 4 and Lily 3, I would immortalise them onto a mug for her, to which she was thrilled and loved the idea....  Below is the outcome.

I was so happy with the outcome and it was a joy to paint and create.  Please note that you can order one of these mugs from me for only £15, plus postage and packaging.  This includes the outside of the mug being painted, and any message you want placed underside (exactly how the mug is in pictures below).

This makes the perfect gift!!  Birthday, anniversary, special day, thank you...  the list is endless.

You will not find another mug like it, nor will you find any other drawing so divine as that, to your young babes.

Please contact me on the following for more details and to order a mug:

#Jubilee Hand Painted Mugs - Perfect Treat or Gift in Suffolk!

As you are aware, I love to paint an array of designs onto mugs.

I hand paint all of the mugs myself, from my home in Suffolk.  Each one is personally attended to, painted with love, care and attention.

As it is coming up for the Queens Diamond Jubilee next month, to commemorate this spectacular British event, I have designed a collection of mugs inspired by the Jubilee...  All of these mugs you can see pictured below.

You can buy one of the designs from Suffolk Food Hall - 'Jubilee 1952 - 2012'.

Jubilee donation to Cancer Campaign in Suffolk...

I am making a donation of £5 to Cancer Campaign in Suffolk for every mug sold through me or via their website:

Each mug is £15, with £5 being donated to a local charity (for whom I donate to and help regularly), this price also includes FREE postage and packaging!  So not only are you getting a bespoke, hand painted mug from a girl who cares, you are also supporting a local charity in Suffolk.
